I do not sell software and I have no interest in any software company.  I thought that this was a good list for some beginners to have and a jolt for some experienced traders that might need a reminder.

If you are using software with red and green lights, you are attempting to trade moving average lines. Not only does this system not work, if the price is missing from the equation, you are leaving yourself open to being whipsawed. Very often, when the moving average lines are at their best, the price is already on the way back.

  • You need to have software that lets you see what is going on in real time.
  • You need to know exactly when to enter and when to exit a trade.
  • You need to know the potential move and be able to instantly figure your risk-to-reward ratio.
  • You need trading software that works well with stocks, commodities, Forex and options.
  • You should not have to buy different software if you switch from stocks to options.
  • You need software that works equally well for any style from position trading to scalping.
  • Your software should give you the odds of success prior to entering a trade.

Trading is visual and you need trading software that allows you to make good decisions because you can see everything that is going on.
