It would be interesting to see 49-days cycle as a part of the whole picture.

This is a specrogram for S&P (from the year 1950 till now):

 

 

It definetely shows that the minimal cycle presented is 126-days. There are shorter cycles as weel though they can be attributed to noise.

Also I attached the list of distances between turning points (268 turning points calculated from 5% zigzag). It might also give us a hint on cycles working at that period.

 

I do not see any cluster around 49 days cycle. This is the extract:

If permanent cycle exists, we must be able to see it as the peak on the spectrogram or some cluster in the list of distances. There is simply no other possibility.

A few words about our group. We work with temporary cycles that usually appear as a some kind of a market reaction to some factors (mostly fundamental events). These cycles exist not too long, about 3-7 full cycle periods (we call it "stock memory").
