Bob, Very good. It has become blatant advertising during the past few weeks. My suggestion is that Ira post here, in this group, what he wants us to see there, at his site. And, he may add his URL at the end of his post. Give us something, even if token useless stuff....respect the group policy and members. BobsKC <bobskc@xxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: Ira, Your contributions here have been significant as have many other members. I am sadded to know
your health is all it could be but I can relate to that personally. Having said that, let's look at the fundamentals of this situation and see if we can't agree or agree to disagree. There is a web site that you contribute to and it is run by your former students who have now become your friends. It is easier for you to refer people to that site where you have posted information than it is to repeat it here or anywhere else. No one is forced to go to the web site if they choose not to do so. I believe that pretty much covers your position. Now, my position is that this web site is a for profit site and regardless of who is running it, we do not want this list turned into a trolling site for profit. You have mentioned/stated the list url many, many, times and anyone who wishes to see what you post there is welcome to visit the site without any prompts from you here. Earl doesn't like the idea of
people posting nothing more than a url on this list and we must respect his wishes as we do all members. Therefore, I ask that you stop sending mails here with that url as the topic or the subject matter and I hope you will continue your membership on Realtraders and share your vast trove of information and knowledge with us as time and health permits. I do not ask that you comply with this because I respect Earl's wishes more than your own but merely because what I am asking of you complies with previously set guidelines on this topic. All best, Bob At 02:40 PM 12/17/2007, you wrote: Bob: I am sorry that I have caused such a controversy. I too have been on this site for many years and have contributed on numerous occasions. As I contribute to several groups I thought that it would be easier to do so on a web site. I had my own
site for a year and didn't want to keep it up any longer for health reasons. Two past students of mine started the delta 100 site and I contribute there from time to time. If the site is of no value to Earl then he doesn't have to go there. They, for now, have an excellent track record with a winning percentage of over 80%, the last time I looked. When I first posted here using the web site I stated that they were preparing the site to have a pay section. I did not try to hide anything from anyone. There will also be a free section from what I understand at the moment. I in no way tried to seduce anyone with false or misleading information. In fact in one of my posts I stated that it was free and was going to go pay and to take advantage of it while you can for free. Earl, I feel what I post might be useful to some. Like all information it is useless to almost everyone because very few choose to make
use of the information put forth by others. The web site does allow me to post my opinions and views on the various markets and not have to take the abuse that has so often been a part of this and other sites. If my posts have offended you, I am sorry. I hope that in spite of it all that you do have a happy and fruitful holiday season. Ira www.delta100.com - ----- Original Message -----

- Earl, if most/all of your problem with the current process is Ira's posts, I'm sure we can ask him to limit his mails which refer people to the web site
to only those mails which offer some personal and professional view of the markets. When I agreed to allow ads, it was with the distinct understanding that they would only be allowed by people who were regular contributors to this list and a regular contribution does not include simply sending a url for a web site.
- So, I ask that you give me another chance to rectify what is bothering you and I ask that Ira refrain from sending posts which offer nothing more than a web site address. If that address has not changed recently, I'm sure anyone here who wants it, already has it, anyway.

- I've had about all I can take of this kind of post (example below) which (IMO) a) is nothing more than one more in a stream of advertisements for a website, b) links to a website which pretty
obviously (to me anyway) is being prepared as a subscription site, and c) contributes no meaningful information for discussion. I find this to be a radical departure from the kind of posts which members such as Clyde contribute.
- I have complained about this previously and before posting this message sent a message to BobsKS, our moderator. He has more or less declined to take action other than taking another poll on the matter which as he put it "doubt it will pass".
- I first joined the RT list probably 8-10 years ago when there was active discussion of trading ideas, techniques, and charts. That ceased to be the case some years ago, however there were occasional posts which I found interesting. Since I find the results of the current permissiveness exceedingly distasteful and the RT content offers little value to me
personally, I have decided to leave the list.
