There are 3 forces at work on any chart.  There is the force applied by the underlying itself and that is the dominant force.  Then there are 2 forces that are acting with or against that force.  One is time and the other is buying and selling.   It is the resolution of these forces that produces the resulting movement in price.  
 
The results can be seen in the cycles produced on a chart.  Everything in this universe  is in some type of cycle or another.

when you write "There is still upside pressure being applied to price...."
what do you mean by upside pressure?
what causes this pressure?
 
is it time? just the time which is remaining in the currenct cycle? or something different...
