Ok so you have a dual channel board and it's an intel system, is it a
pci express board and do you have a pci EXPRESS vid card with a large
amount of ram? If so, the vid card and PCI express could be you problem.
If you are into expermenting, you might try putting the new ram into
the existing ram slots and the existing into the other slots. Also some
of the intel chipsets have a pci addressing overlap problem. If you
have a couple of cards in the pci slots (not likely with all of the
integrated stuff these days) you might try moving the cards around and
resetting the escd data in the bios setup area. Resetting that data can
fix the problem all by itself, sometimes. The setting is in the cmos
setup and is usually in the advanced settings or the pci / integrated
devices area. It sometimes is rather hard to find, for that matter on
d'hells, it's sometimes just not reachable. Either way, just going into
cmos setup and saving on exit without overtly making any changes
sometimes makes a problem booting disappear especially on d'hell
machines, they have some of the most limited cmos settings that I have
ever experienced.
Hope that helps and goooood luck on the d'hell support, you'll need it.
Jeff
