They would already own the winners as settlement date is 5 days and why sell the losers and drive the market lower.  The losers would have already been sold.   It is a rally that they need. Not a sell off.  If they need a rally bad enough they will use the S&P and several different baskets of stock.

end of month,
end of quarter,
so,
they have to show performance,
year started at  1221
we should  close at least above that,
we  also have only a few days to make it, fri is 9/30
they will  be selling losers and buy more of their winners,
