I have known and dealt with Bryce Gilmore both as a customer
and as a business partner for since I bought his Wavetrader software
and Geometry of Markets books in 1992. From what I have seen
of the Swing Machine from Clyde Lee they share a similar philosophy.Much of what you see in Miner's Dynamic Trader had its genesis
in the less advanced areas of the Wavetrader (for Which Robert Miner was the agent in the US until 1993/4).
I have had numerous what I would call "run ins" with him over issues
which in the end were clearly instances where he was being FIRM but FAIR.He is seriously the fairest person I have dealt with. He has his guidelines and
stcisk to them - that presses my buttons tooHaving arranged most of his seminars for him since 1996 (he is a pretty
private guy and only manages one or two seminars a year for only a few
people) I have seen how people who have come into contact with him have strong opinions about him.
The people who have meet him personally in the whole can see the twinkle
in his eye when he is "winding people up" to get them to think about
what he is saying.
And like any good market will do he treads in the Ego - not just a persons
ego I mean but THE EGO. In trading I have found an ego is a bad thing to
have in control!
Bryce Gilmore simply loves winding up Norman Winski (thats where you'll get the negative comments about Bryce!!):He does that because
1. Norman lets himself get wound up
2. More importantly he doesn't believe that Astro is useful for the majority of traders
Gilmore is very generous with his time for the people who do the work.BUT he does not suffer fools gladly and will wind them up to see how they
react. I have seen a number of occassions where he told people who had Cash in
their pockets to buy the WaveTrader that "Trading is not for you" and refused to sell them the software - ever. What you do not see in email groups is the twinkle in the eye.
Yes he swears. Yes, he is Australian and that means we speak
differently and are not quite. But, yes he is a very good trader and teacher of the right students (those that are not lazy, do the work and are prepared to think outside the square). So if you are lazy, do not like work, have no sense of humour, and are not committed to trading to win - do not do Bryce Gilmore's Los Angeles seminar in October 4-6.Regards
David Hunt

I will add something here since all I have seen is a couple of quick
negative responses which have no background reasoning attached.
I have personally dealt with Mr. Gilmore and had had no issues. He
delivered what was promised and in a couple of cases, more that that.
He had a Yahoogroup called Club144 which had a minimal cost where I
watched him trade the mini-SP in real time for two years and
constantly make money. I learned more in that room watching the good
and the infrequent bad days than in everything else put together
before or since. The emini trading manuals he has written are the best
trading docs I have ever seen. Other than one other source which
complements his work, I use nothing else today and I make money in the markets.
I don't know the contents of the seminar. I assume it is focused on
the S&P, but I have applied the same material to other markets. You
won't get some black box system and it will take some work on your
part to internalize the concepts and apply them based on your own
style.
Value is a subjective thing, so $2500 is a different thing to each of
us. For myself it is simply, does it help me make money or not? I
would assume that there is some overview of the material to be
presented.
I know that there have been issues between him and others in this
group, but I can only comment on my personal experience.

I attended a seminar in Australia in 2000 while holidaying there.
The stuff is geometry for the Gann and Elliott orientated trader.
The examples you see in the seminar stun you far more than the books.
The material requires your time and attention, you have to put the
hours in, but it very useful.
Is he rude and abusive? Yes, although I reckon he does it to wake
you up and open your eyes.
