Sorry so late with this comment.... I was a Squawkbox user for five
years. Used LOS first then switched to Ben Lithenstein's
service(incorrect spelling). I liked Ben better.
The squawk feed sends small data packets and I never noticed any
interference with data feed. I used on a phone line years ago but have
had cable for so long I don't remember if there was any problems.
One big plus of Squawk is that you always know where the market is.
Many times my chart or trading feed would be slow and with squawk you
always know where the bid and ask is.
I love listened to squawk, it's helps me "see and feel" the market.
Plus I find it pretty entertaining. You have to learn to use squawk
just like learning chart patterns. You need to understand the locals,
paper, and commercial activity. You also need to learn the squawker's
motivation and emotion in his voice (many times he will be holding
positions).
I quit using squawk because it went up to $125 a month and I thought
that was just too much.
Hope this helps,
Howard

Subject: [RT] Squawk box services
Does anyone use a live squawk box service from the cme pit?
Which one do you use?
Have you heard good/bad things about other squawks you don't use?
Do they work well on dial-up or only on dsl/cable?
How valuable for trading do you find it to be?
Any thoughts about this kind of service you might share would be
appreciated.
Terry
