Excellent response Clyde.  Thank
you.
I've studied Hurst's work and Ehler's
work.  I found Ehler's work to be easier to
understand as far as the basic concept of a
trending move vs cyclic move. (not all the
math!.. gg)  This has helped me very much.

I still believe Hurst's work rules!..however. (for
me)
 What I have
learned over the past few years.. is this;
The Higher
Dominant Cycles is what defines the
most Dominant Trending move of the market.
The other lower time
frame cyclic components are there; but
very
much overpowered by the highest dominant
cycle, sometimes hard to identifiy especially
initially.
Jim Curry did
a very detailed historical study on
this.  What he found is that for the 60 day cylic component is
this;
the Highest odds  of it Inverting..  a
high where a low should be.. (historically)  is coming off of a 4 year
cyclic low.
Best,
Rhonda

  Ira,I totally agree with you.However, I
doubt that many persons can have the discipline to followwhat Hurst
proposed as a trading method.Actually, if someone is interested in
"cycles" then John Ehlers workis more definitive about the concept of
cycles and their interactionsand the determination of whether the current
market is in a "trend"or in a "cyclic" phase. There are two ways to
approach Hurst's concept of centered movingaverages -- which allow for
significant variations of periods -- toestablish "low risk" trade
points.  If you are very good at lookingat a graphic (CMA) and
anticipating where it will go next, just drawin your estimate.  Or,
use the mathematical approach that I use inmy Hurst Channel
  studies.Clyde- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
