O.k, thanks a lot. Now I have a starting point of  what the inputs should
reflect.

Best regards,
Kate

  Kate,

I choose parameters for daytrading, for
indicators like MA, MACD, RSI, Stoch, etc.

after watching them perform in various
time frames and best matching the price.

I try to use numbers close to dominant
cycle length or 1/2 of it. Once I find the right

inputs, I use them and check them periodically.
Here comes to mind Tom Joseph's

  ingenious MA crossover 5/35 indicator
which helps very well in wave count in all time

  frames.

      Kate,

      if I'm correct Tom Bierovic
uses different MACD parameters in his trading strategies, EOD and intraday.
But I don't know which timeframe intraday only the same parameters through
all frames.

Maybe you will find some more infos
on his webside  synergytrader.com

Well, I am currently referring to 13 minute bars, but I wondered if
there was a general rule where the parameters are a multiple of the
time bar. It may have to be tweaked somewhat but I am looking for a
starting point. The factory type defaults are o.k., when using a daily
bar but not sensitive to any smaller timeframe.

TIA

Kate

Forgot to add question. Like most indicators it depends on what
time frame you're trading.
