RE: [RT] Wireless trading...Reality or Work in progress?

Paul,

I trade stocks/ETFs/futures through IB. I use my home desktop PC to
place new orders and adjust stops in the morning. During the day I
check positions on my Samsung I-330 PDA/phone combo. All I'm doing is
taking partial profits and moving stops on existing positions. The
smartphone is great for this kind of thing.

I would hate to try to enter half a dozen entry orders with associated
OCAs/conditional orders and the like. I'd go nuts. It just takes too
long to cycle through all the screens because every step requires
another round-trip to the server. I haven't timed it but I'm guessing
it takes 5-6 minutes to log on to my account and modify a single
existing order, and perhaps 2-3 minutes for every order after that.

Subject: [RT] Wireless trading...Reality or Work in progress?

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone on this board is currently
trading wireless (pda or laptop)?

Is the hardware, software, and isp svc *finally* a
reality or do we need to wait longer for something
better?

I don't mean heavy duty daytrading, but rather light
swing trading and account monitoring via a pda or
laptop and wireless internet connection.

Thanks in advance!

Paul
