In the case of SwingMachine (the straight lines) that was set to 89 bar
lookback for pivot detection. This is a number that I have found very
useful from the earliest days of the application.
In the case of the NewThing (wiggly large cyan line), the text gives
you some idea of the approach. Insofar as what the dominant cycles
were a month ago I don't have the foggiest idea (can be determined
quite easily but we are just in the investigative stage) as to whether
there will be a tendency to hold up over time.
The NewThing computes the phase and amplitude value every bar
and then calculates the Fourier Synthesis value for the specified
prediction length (in this case 0--current bar) and then at the end of
the data projects based on the current value out to where the chart
"bars to right" exist.
