I use IB and generally find confirmations on order placement (including
shorts) and cancellations to be instantaneous. I do note, however, that with
some less heavily traded stocks, as well as with some options, that
confirmations can take a couple of seconds. I suspect that this may be due
to the exchange handling rather than IB.
