No, SC 4.0 does not require a security 
block.
It is however an abandoned product and is no longer 
supported by the vendor.
Unless your friend can get it REAL cheap I would 
pass.
I used SC 4.0 and switched to Ensign when Omega 
abandoned the SC customer base.
Ensign is a great product and the service after the 
sale (lease actually) is excellent.

  of a used copy of "SuperCharts 4.0 End of Day" and wants to know if it 
  requires a "security" block (dongle?) to run properly.  I have never used 
  omega products so I am unable to help.
