I am working on something that has to do with an indicator
that was published in 1987 which I could make no sense out
of it insofar as applying it to data as a system .  FINALLY I did
exactly what you are mentioning and now -- ON THEORETICAL
DATA (which I use to see how any indicator behaves) -- I have
a near symmetrical function which trades on zero crossings.

It really is amazing what that concept can do to an otherwise
good but unruly function.
