There are a number of different software versions
available for the
calculation of market profile. It will depend
on your chart platform.
The "value area" can only be calculated by
calculating the market
profile or market price distribution (two very
different things but
amazingly both seem to come up with the same "value
area" values.
Try doing a Google search for market
profile/market price distribution
and see what you find.
Attached are how I do it using price
distribution.
