Some people post messages to the list from the Yahoogroups
website itself in the form of html.
Others deal with the list only through their email client,
so for them, the list is not a website but an
email server, typically quite independent of those which
contain the site itself. I wouldn't be too surprised
if there are other ways to access a list as well.
Everything depends upon your perspective.
