Years ago I bought a $30 software which was supposed to proctect my computer
from intrusion.
When I went through the 2 tests (per above), I realized that almost everything
about my computer was easily accessible to strangers.
Mr. Gibson recommended ZoneAlarm (the free version). I ran through the tests
with ZoneAlarm installed, and the security situation since then has been
vastly
improved, though nothing is perfectly safe.
