Re: [RT] opinions on Advanced Futures?

Yes, the same.

My return to IB is a long story ... in a nutshell, I like the convenience of
trading stocks, options, and electronic futures in a single account; I think
the trading platform is extremely well planned and implemented; and the
commissions are terrific.

A sudden move was occasioned by my former broker's failure to provide fully
integrated, real-time status information which left me short for a 30 handle
loss when the trading platform showed my position as flat. The IB package in
total was simply superior to anything else I had tested to that time, and I
have tested many platforms. My major concern during my use of IB several
years ago had been lack of phone backup which necessitated maintaining a
backup account. Phone backup to close positions is now provided.

I have John Lothian to thank for patiently educating me regarding the
implementation of stops on electronic futures ... a whole series on the
subject should be located by searching the RT archives. IB provided the
broker server hosted stops standard with electronic order systems. What IB
did not offer was the Globex hosted Stop Limit orders, also available on
most electronic order systems, which provide superior execution. On 27Sep,
IB announced implementation of Globex hosted Stop Limit orders.
