You should get a memory manager program.
McAfee has several available at <A

Memory/Crashes
Normally when memory causes crashes, the machine
just locks up. Disappearing icons and spontaneous application closings
are not related to faulty memory. It is more likely that you are leaving
some faulty application open longer with your increased memory or something
else is unstable with your system.

Memory/Crashes
I just added some more memory to my PC. While
it does seem faster and I can run more apps, it seems to crash more, all the
icons dissappear and the Explorer closes. I paid $13 for 128 mbs. Was it
just cheap memory, is there any way I can tell? Guess I paid too
little?
