RE: [RT] short term top

Yes
Charles that is correct. However, I believe it will be a short lived pullback. I
do not have downside targets yet, but they will likely be higher than those
I had posted earlier in this thread. I am now of the opinion that we are in the
early stages of a strong BEAR market rally that will likely last into
January.

Ernie-

Thanks for your thoughts and comments. I'm
interpreting your work as saying that the market will
'probably' be down tomorrow?

Today's high so far of 885 satisfies my first target range.
If you are already long I would hold long for a move higher into the first
range or possibly on up to the 904-905 range. I would enter a protective
stop for 875.
Likewise since we have reached within six points of a target
range and then retreated to move outside the six point range we now have a
potential sell signal at approximately 875. After today's high we should see
at least a two day drop toward the 10-23 low plus or minus two
days.
Good trading to all,

premature. We shall see. The post I made to my group tonight best
explains my position. Here it is.

I am not yet completely convinced
that the high is in. Yesterday’s high of 881.27 was uncharacteristically
short of the forecast target. I am usually within six points. I know this
is splitting hairs, but it causes me some concern. If the high has yet to
happen it will almost certainly have to happen tomorrow. A break of 875
cash basis, and we will likely put in a new high for the move tomorrow. If
we do see a new high for the move tomorrow it would be a real good place
to get short if we move to within six points of the target ranges, which
for tomorrow will be 889-890 & 904-905.

If the high has indeed been made I
am forecasting a low for 10-23 plus or minus 2 days, and I am leaning
toward this low coming in on the early side of that date. My first target
range is 817-825 the next target range would be 812-806. A break of 855
tomorrow will all but confirm yesterday as the high, and set the stage for
further decline to the first target range.
