OK, I know this is a bit of a lot of pictures to
look at but if you are
serious about knowing when/where/how is a bottom
then it is worth
your time.
I've been working with a continuous market price
distribution indicator
and in screwing around decided just to see what a
histogram of the
"value area" (normalized so that the low was at
zero) looked like.
Well, here are the results going back to
1987.
Granted it ain't the perfect bottom picker but it
has done one hell of
a good job so far. Note that it IS calling
the recent downswing in
prices a bottom ! !
No guarantee where the top is out of this but
history might give you
a bit of a chance to evaluate where that might
be.
This is not a commercial because this is not a
product just part of
my continuing research that I thought members of
the list might
find useful.
