In the interest of keeping change to a minimum I frequently give
unexpected amounts to cashiers at drive throughs... i.e. .18 due
will give 2 dimes and 3 pennies, expect .05 back, net result 1
coin instead of 5

It has become a hobby to watch people as I do this. By their
reactions I estimate 75% have trouble the doing arithmetic
mentally. 10% seem incapable of believing what the cash register
says I should get back.
