Jim,

 I concede your point about a lack of interdisciplinary knowledge. However,
to stop there is giving them way too much credit. I am saying they don't
have a proper journalistic education in that they don't use the English
language properly.  How can they be expected to discuss the topics you
mentioned with no command or a distorted command of the language?
