I wanted to say a special thank you to Ray Raffurty, Kent Rollins; and User
$.
This was indeed an overwhelming response of hi-tech information. You guys
were right; this was WAY over my head; and my needs. From a practical
point of view here is why I was asking. I know of a money manager (mutual
funds) who has a lot of different clients with accounts at various places.
He has five employees who enter orders over T 1 lines. He claims this setup
enables him to get everyone's orders in during the last 5 - 10 minutes of
trading before the market closes. I actually discovered that a local
businessman has T 1 lines in his company so I can visit his office for some
first-hand experience and feedback.
FWIW, I have now committed to getting DSL; which should suit my needs.
I wanted to say thank you to everyone who responded as this was helpful
in my journey to understanding the many advantages that DSL can offer.
