BobKC,
So, you were there for Lincoln's Gettyburg
address too? Did you have an orange straw hat?
I thought that was you. <G>
Cheers,
Norman

Yeah, and just how many of us can remember FDR on Dec. 8, 1941 on the
radio
declaring war and telling us how tough it would be and then us finding
out that
it really was that tough.
Remember the Gold stars in the windows!!!!!!!
Clyde,
I was a bit young then .. in fact, I was born 4 months
later. I do believe that FDR and Harry Truman were two of our greatest
presidents.
I remember sitting in the rain throught that 90 minute speech
by Edward Everett Horton at Gettysburg and then our President came forward
to deliver a 90 second speech he had scribbled on the back of an envelope
that changed the world.
Cheers,
Norman
ahh.. The Great Emancipator! He freed the slaves in "all
those states in rebellion against the United States of America". Of
course, he had no authority to make any laws in someone else's country and he
didn't free any slaves in his country or in the neutral states but ....
without freeing a single slave, he became the "Great Emancipator". (An
early relative of Bill Clinton, no doubt).

Oh Man am I getting old. I remember ALL of them (though I was in
the 7th. grade during Cuba and thought it was just a cover for Khrushchev
to take over Berlin).
I rarely make predictions but here's mine for this year. Many,
many, many companies that used Arthur Anderson as accountants and recently
fired them WILL restate earnings downward, some extensively.
Is there a list of such companies? I would like to buy some
puts.
Good luck and good trading,
Ray Raffurty

The nation is easily capable of weathering the storm. Any of you
old
enough to remember Watergate? The Cuban Missle Crisis? The
Six Days War?
The only thing shaking are the boots of the CEOs who are afraid
they'll be
caught with their hands in the cookie jar.
