How exactly does the committee reflect the majority of the list member's opinions? Is there some polling thing I am not aware of? Was there an election held? What is the term of office?
That statement is a boldfaced lie as far as I am concerned.
There is a difference between abuse of the list for commercial interests and a discussion of commercial interests. And to force those discussions to private channels, as opposed to in the light of day for all to see, is wrong on multiple accounts.
Vigorous public discussion, with proper disclosure of any conflicts of interest, should be encouraged in the best interests of the group regardless of the member's personal or professional status.
