I use Interactive Brokers to do options. Very good. Get filled in
seconds on limits. On market it is virtually instantenious. I know
Stock people, they say same things. System uses very low bandwidth,
you can trade using 56K modem or even wirless from laptop. But you
have to spend with them at least $30/month or they charge you $10 for
that month for RT streaming data. They aren't very good in paying
interest for the money just sitting there.
It is real good for active traders, not for LT investors. This is the
system that brokers use, that's why fees are so low.
They have terrific interface for order placement and online
accounting. I forgot when I called them last time. It is all online
and very reliable. If you call desk with your order it is $25, if you
have to call dew to their fault, comission is the same. The wait is
not that long, you just have to go through the menues for a minute.
I think it is a very good company, one of the best.
