I have used a pretty good little firewall named ZoneAlert and it is/was
free.  I don't have the url for their web site but you can search
for it with your browser.  Should it be elusive, I'll dig it up and
post here.  
Virii are like colds.  No one thinks they'll get one and when they
do, they just keep going out among others knowing they won't pass it
around.   They don't know where they got it and they don't know
how bad it will be.  I don't think we can put carelessness in the
same category as purposeful abuse.
Bottom line, don't open attachments unless they're from your
mother.  Don't even open email, just peruse them without
opening.  
I made it home to Tennessee safe and sound.

I too received this virus. There has been a lot of discussion in this list about antisocial behaviour. May I suggest that belonging to a mailing list and NOT having functional updated antivirus software installed be considered the ULTIMATE FORM OF ANTISOCIAL BEHAVIOUR!!! Messages from Rick or Mark might be irritating but they are not directly injurious to my computer and my data. I myself would far rather see permanent removal for transmitting a virus than I would for 'objectionable' speech.
