The KLEZ.G / KLEZ.H e-mail virus is running rampant.
This is a powerful variant of the original Klez worm. All
you have to do is open the email and KLEZ works ***without
any additional user interaction***
KLEZ will ...
* Write a file to the Windows system directory and add
a registry key to allow it to auto-execute upon reboot.
* Disable anti-virus software.
* Propagate itself through your LAN.
* Propagate itself through e-mail, by using its own SMTP
engine to send itself to addresses it finds on your
computer. It replaces the "From" header of the e-mail
with one it randomly selects from your mail database. It
also may include a file randomly chosen from your hard
drive.
* Infect itself into randomly selected executables on your
system.
* Insert and launch the Elkern virus which will randomly
pick a day to delete all the files on your hard drive.
