Easiest way to replicate my settings in the "Security Settings" dialog: Use
"Reset custom settings" to reset to "High", click on "Reset" and confirm
change, then review the list. Most items will be marked "Disable". For the
few marked "Enable", change to "Prompt". I have no other suggestions other
than to check the version. My Outlook Express includes all available
critical updates and shows version 5.50.4807.1700 (Help >About),

This option is not available in my OE 5.50.4807.1700 (Help >About), however
this is an option I would check were it available.

Yes, I did receive it ... it is a rare occurance for me to see comments
regarding a virus which I did not receive. I review/read all email using the
OE preview window so I see everything which comes in. If I have any
reservations about the email, I delete it from the preview pane.

One other item of note is on the OE Options "Receipts" tab, "Returning Read
Receipts". I have elected "Notify me for each read receipt request". Some
spammers use a read receipt request to confirm email addresses on their spam
lists. This way, I can opt not to send a receipt unless I know the
requestor.
