Re: [RT] Brian Bell....ring a bell?

John,

After Brian showed us his new indicator, the Bell Warning Line, and
overlayed it next to Perry Kaufman's adaptive moving average, I asked him to
toss a 21 day simple average in the mix. Guess what? In my opinion, the 21
day simple average tracked the market better than the other two (at least in
the examples he showed). Bottomline: The BWL is like all lagging
indicators, it lags price action. Brian doesn't use it to trigger trades.
He kind of uses it to exit positions, BUT, now always, only sometimes,
because there might be other technical issues and ... if, when, maybe,
kinda shoulda, woulda...

I sat at a table with a bunch of double-degreed engineers who are hardcore
mechanical system traders. Let's just say that none of us "moved to a
higher trading level" or were moved. The drinks at the University Club were
very strong and they served before, during and after the presentation.

Take care,

Steve
