There is an old saw "never short a dull market" which I keep in mind in
markets like this. I think all of the good news is in the market and the
market is trying to figure out if there is bad news which must be
discounted. The market may very well drift until there is a fresh consensus
or there is an external shock. Bottom line is that I generally opt to stand
aside when a market is drifting with little discernable pattern and when I
do trade, I take profits quickly.
