 Please see below information and a galatic 
graphic I recently received from a list of scientists.  As you can see, 
Galaxy 51 is a whirlpool galaxy and the pattern is obvious. Are all galaxies 
whirlpool galaxies? No.  However, once the pattern is spotted, one can 
count on a long list of expected related traits to be present.

James, I just noticed that M 51 is also called the 
Whirlpool galaxy.  This galaxy is so beautifully balanced, seems unlikely 
it is disturbed by NGC 5195.
