After a quick scan of the documentation, it would appear that the 65535
"Period" setting might not be optimal since the update every 2 days will
fail if the computer is not already connected. 65531 would appear to
partially overcome this problem by polling every 45 minutes until
successful, however subsequent attempts will be made daily and will fail if
not connected.
I have decided to continue using Dimension 4 for two reasons: 1) it will
visibly continue polling until successful, 2) I have it scheduled to update
time at the same time every day when odds are high I will have a
connections, and 3) the application overhead goes away on exit while I
assume that the time service remains resident at all times.
