I have traded stocks and futures and have the scorch marks to
prove it. I have decided on stocks because although i am a shortterm
trader i am not a day trader [got a real job :)].

will let you down and misinform you a large percentage of the time.
i am drawn to volume because it seems to show up so often in
comments of those who seem to know what they talk about. secondly volume
(in my estimation) is not a lagging indicator. i don't think i would be to
wrong in classifying it as a fundatechnical indicator. I don't use moving
average as some do (triggered when a fast MA crosses a slow MA). I use it
as a signal when closing price crosses a single moving average.
Stochastics i use for there trend direction more than the actual numeric
value.

Ah, that's the kicker, isn't it?
