Norman,
Have followed your posts for quite some time and
have the deepest respect for your opinions.
Great post and sense of humor. Loved the part
about the leaning tower and Ric.
1. I tend to agree that the masses usually feel
that they have to pay a high price for anything of value. I don't believe
that is true and feel very sorry for these folks who cannot accept something of
value given in the true spirit of a sincere desire to help others. I
have to believe that there are still people in the world, albeit a
minority, who share knowledge openly and freely without expectation of anything
in return out of a sincere desire to help their fellow man. I know that's
a naive belief but then I genuinely care about my fellow man where most people
these days only care about themselves. Sad commentary for the degradation
of our society.
2. Very true.
3. I may be ignored or persecuted for giving away
what I know and that is fine. The people who wish to indulge in this type
of behavior are only harming themselves so it is of absolutely no
consequence to me and will not affect the balance in my trading account one way
or the other. I am simply attempting to share something of value with
other traders because I sincerely care about the success of others. I am
not looking for, nor do I want, any credit for anything, I simply would like to
leave this earth knowing that I did my part to help my fellow man. A
purist attitude, you bet and I'm proud of it.
4. Great observation, works for me.
No one can keep up with Ric in the rambling
nonsense department :-) :-) :-).
God Bless and best wishes in all your future
endeavors,Tom

Dear Tom,
1) My experience is that most people value
knowledge at exactly what they paid for it.
It matters not what that knowledge can do or its
future value, only what they gave up for it in the present. This is why one
could present the holly grail of the markets on this list for free and not
worry that anyone would do anythnig about it. Everyone would assume it is
worthless.
2) Now think about how many great ideas of
history sat dormant for hundreds of years. Da Vinci was working on a
flying machine. Galleo dropped his balls off that tower, which led to
penicilian which went nowhere until the 1940s. And then there is
cable tv....how long did you have to wait for your cable guy to show up?
3) So, you make an interesting point about those
of history who gave away knowledge.
What I think you failed to mentioned is that
those who gave away valuable information or creations were usually
either ignored or persecuted. It is only substantially after they were gone
they they usually got the credit they deserved. I can think of several modern
day cases where the more magnamious have been ignored in favor of celebrating
lesser lights. The big hubbub in Hollywood right now is about the movie "A
Beautiful Mind" based on the lfe of John Nash, who was a CO-winner of the
Nobel Prize for economics. Where is the mention of the other winners? Or
mention of all of the other people since the inception of the Nobel prize who
suffered infinite hardships on their way to making their great
contributions? Bottomline is that the squeaky wheel gets the credit. Get
yourself a good publicist and a publisher and you are on your way to getting a
movie deal. Ever heard of Marcus, inventor of the automobile, or
Emile Berliner who invented the
telephone? Ever see the movie, Hoosiers? There was another small
Indiana school that has a much more remarkable record, but no one wrote a
book about it. The coach of the unknown team, after scoring 4 state basketball
championships with a winning career percentage near 80%, went on
to introduce Indiana style basketball to North Carolina via North
Carolina State which led to Michael Jordan. Then, there is the US
space race. When you think of the brains behind the race to the Moon, who
comes to mind? Von Braun or Silverstein? Again, the obvious is obvously
wrong. The history of history is that it is constantly re-written to satisfy
those in power. Time and time again, the conquerors took credit for the
creativity of the conquored while producing nothing but a superior military
which was likely to be defeated by some other more superior army in the near
future. Meanwhile, the cultural contributions of the conquored live on for
milleniums, but under the trademark of their conquorers who had the luxury,
for one brief and shining moment, to re-write history..
4) So in the spirit of this discussion, my
contribution is a major conceptual breakthough, combining ancient architecture
with modern medical science. Remember that Galielo dropped his ballls from the
Leaning Tower of Pisa? There has been much concern over the viability of
this architectual wonder. What can be done to keep it from falling over?
Can you say Viagra?
Firmly,
Norman
P.S. I gotta hand it to Ric. I tried to ramble as best as I could, but I
ran out of gas after only 36 lines.
I better take another pill.

Mikey,
Outstanding, you are a rare person indeed and I
applaud you.
This and all forums should be about people
helping people without any expectation of anything in return.
The most respected people in the history of the
world are those who shared their knowledge with others openly and
freely.
A wise man once said "Knowledge is worthless
until it is freely shared with others".
You are a wiser person than most, hang on
to your values, morals and ethics.
God Bless and best wishes in all your future
endeavors,Tom

this forum should be used as a mechanism to sell a product or
