Brian,

 There are classes and courses specifically designed for passing these
exams.
If you live in a large city, there is probably a class that you can attend.
If you live more remotely, you can probably do it by computer. One firm that
was good 10 years ago when I got my series 3 is Bob Eder. He was based on
Salt Lake City, but toured the country giving classes. His tel. was
800-BOBEDER.  No guarantee that this information is still totally relevant
or up to date.
