If you want to review and selectively delete
messages try the following:

Most people keep their "Inbox " open all the
time.  Click on "Inbox" in the upper left.  A menu will drop down
showing a list of your folders under OE.  Click in the folder "Deleted
Items" for a list of files deleted but not removed from OE.  It works much
like the recycle bin on our desktop in that it does not permantly remove a file
until you tell it to.  Just highlight the file(s) you want to get
rid of and hit delete.

If you want to save a file right click it and move
it to a different folder.

To prevent OE from automatically emptying the
delete folder on exit click on "Tools", "options", "Maintenance" and un-check
"Empty deleted messages on exit".  If you receive critical messages this is
a good idea to prevent them from being permantly removed, unlike
Enron.

Another trick is to create your own folders by left
clicking on "Inbox" then right click on "Local Folders" and right click on "New
Folders".

Try creating a folder called Real Traders.
Then click on "Message", "Create rule from message".  Check the boxes that
say "Where the subject line contains specific words" and "Move it to the
specified Folder".  Make sure nothing else is checked.

You will notice a box open below that says "Apply
this rule after message arrives.  Where the subject line contains
specific words.  Move it to the specified folder."

Click "contains specific words"  A box
will pop up, enter [RT] in the box, click "add" and "OK".  Now click on
specified.  Another box will pop up showing your folders.
Highlight the new one "Real Traders" and click "OK".  If you did not create
Real Traders file previously you can do it here also.

The message  box should now read "Apply this
rule after message arrives.  Where the subject line
contains '[RT]'.  Move it to the Real
Traders folder."  Click "OK".

Now each message from Real Traders [RT] will be
automatically moved to the Real Traders folder.  This will
un-cluttered your e-mail and still keep RT messages for later review and/or
deletion.

Have fun.

  Ray,
you seem to know outlook well. how do you empty the delete folder if it is not
automaticly done on shut down. I prefer to not delete them on shut down
but I do need to delete them once in a while manually, but I do not know
  how.

    Hi All,

With outlook Express (and probably Outlook) you
can create message rules click "Message" then "Create rule".  Here you
can move a message from someone to a folder.  Simply tell OE to move
the message to the "Deleted Items" folder.  This will not actually
delete the item until you shut OE down.  You can then review your
deleted items before closing OE for anything of interest.

    Good luck and good trading,

P.S.  It works really well with Ric's
    annoying tomes.

      Lee,

      Excellent warning.
This feature of Outlook or Outlook Express is
very powerful and if not utilized correctly can and will screen out emails
that were not intended to be eliminated.
It's good to see that someone else
appreciates Norman's posts.  I too am a Norman fan.  Norman,
please keep posting I have learned a few things as I am sure others have

Wishing you all the very best,

If using IE, open message you want blocked from now
          on, go Message/Blocked Senders...
It gets a real workout on my machine.

              5. Market geometry and how to apply
              it to successsful trading
              6. Discussions of trading tools, how
we use them and what value they bring to trading
              Get the idea.
