Hello ric,

ri> What do you perceive is the role of the market you trade?

To give me all it's money.

ri> Discussing this from the perspective of how you perceive other
ri> people might be instructive.

I think everyone is an idiot and I do the opposite of what they say.

ri> It is common to interpret what others say from the perspective of
ri> roles.

No because like I said they are all idiots, so they have no role.

ri> People expect others to fill one of various predetermined roles.

I only expect everyone to be an idiot, that's not too much to ask is
it?

ri> This suggests that they are covertly asking themselves what the
ri> role of the person they are dealing with really is.

I don't deal with people I deal with computers, they are my friend.

ri> So they lose meaning and understanding if they find someone
ri> fulfilling a role other than they expect or if they miscast
ri> him/her in one of their preferred roles. Upset is also common in
ri> such mis-reading, mis-construing of roles.

Repeat after me, everyone is an idiot. Thus I only listen to my
computer, to tell me what command I should follow. Careful I hear a
command coming in now.

ri> Do this ring true for those who tend to mis-read or mis-quote or
ri> mis-construe?

I have no idea, please explain in great detail what you mean. Could
you please put that in binary so my boss can read it?

ri> In any event it is an inner tendency that gets in the way of
ri> perceiving reality - not a recipe for seeing the market as it is -
ri> more a recipe for seeing the market as a reflection of oneself.

If the market is a reflection of myself, RUN FOR THE HILLS!

ri> Profits will always tend to be elusive as long as your perception
ri> of the market is flawed.

Maybe that's why I am rich! Thank's I was wondering why me? I now
know it wasn't me - it was my computer, rat's!

ri> The market does not know of your role projections onto it, nor
ri> does it care. It just is.

I think my boss agrees, I'll ask him and see, as soon as I convert
your email into ascii for him to digest.

ri> So you must change your perception rather than try to force the
ri> market into what you want it to be - for you do not have the power
ri> to force the market to do anything - it just is.

Wait when I place 1500 SP's on a stop, I make the market spike. Of
course I am just doing what I have been told to do. But none the less
I did have the power to move the market, if you were my friend I would
call you first and tell you minutes before I placed the order.

ri> Put another way, winners tend to come from accepters of markets,
ri> not from those who expect markets to conform to a role they have
ri> projected onto it and get upset when it fails to conform.

I personally could care less about the markets and or the psychology
of the market participants. I have my hands full staying awake to make
sure bad data doesn't give my boss a wrong idea. I do have a problem
you could help me personally with, maybe. I have a hang up spending
all the money I make, all I want to do is buy more computer hardware
and software, data feeds ect. Do you think I am possessed by some
electronic demon? I feel I owe it to what makes all the money, I do
so very little work, yet I am a slave to feeding data to my boss. I
want to have a life can you help me please? Thank you for all your
interesting comments and such. PS I am an Idiot also.

ri> Unconditional regards, Ric.
