Thanks for the comments.  I am sure once SSF gets started the forces of 
change will work their magic in getting the tax law playing field more level.

 premiums go right to the balance sheet ... that is why it became so popular
 for corporations to write puts on their own stock.  It is only tax free on

 There is also preferential tax treatment for hedging large holdings using
 either listed or unlisted collars that would not exist using SSFs.
 
 Now options on SSFs .. if they ever come ... might get the tax treatment
