I am going to date myself but hopefully, agree with the point made below by Bob

I began registered trap shooting in 1969 and was named Rookie of the Year
by Trap and Field and Sports Afield magazines. I set several records in
the American Trap Shooting Association and some of those records stand
today. I was on the All American Team in 1970.

I was asked by many people to help them learn to shoot better and what my
methods were. I was offered steep prices for my trap guns and eventually
sold both of the guns I used. (An old model 12 Winchester which I had
modified for trap and a Kriegoff German over and under I owned). I bought
more guns and sold those and more guns and sold those, etc. In the end,
those people who bought my guns shot no better than they had before and
those I helped learned little and did only marginally better. Winchester
offered me a job several times as a professional shooter but I didn't want
to move to New Haven and I liked being an amateur which is where all the
prize money was. (Unlike golf).

The bottom line is that I had a skill that I was born with and I had 20/10
vision with very fast reflexes and no one could learn those things from
me. People wanted to believe it was my tools, (guns), and were willing to
pay up for them. Had I had little conscience and less morality, I could
have become a shooting guru and spouted all kinds of mumble jumble for a
profit or just for my own edification but I chose to stop selling guns that
were not the answer to becoming better and stop the "help" which was no
real help since skills I was born with could not be taught.

My point is that even if a trader is successful, even if he/she can produce
records to prove success, that does not mean they can help you. You must
have your own skills. Your own methods. Your own "feel" for trading. You
may have been born with the tools required to be in this profession and you
may learn them yourself from experience but I find it unlikely you will
learn them from others. Particularly from others who are touting their
abilities or their superior insight into life.

I hope everyone is having a good week .. it's a great market for traders
right now. Let the market teach you and let the myriad of b.s. go where
all such matter goes. Thank you for your post Bob.
