The issue before had to do with TX residents. FS had been operating
an office in Houston for years and had not been charging tax to Tx
customers. The state informed them of the error in their ways and
assessed them for back taxes. In turn they sent all of us a bill. I
had just move here at the time and so my bill was just for a couple
of months so I paid it. Not positive who is legally responsible per
the fs contract, though generally state laws provide that the buyer
is responsible for sale/service taxes whether the vendor collects or
not. But I don't think any actually attempt to collect.
