I believe what you said:

are basically mutually exclusive.
If you use a trend follower, then to not miss
the bottom/top
turns you will have to use a much shorter ROC or momentum
indicator to turn the "trend" following off and if you are not
real careful about this you will be back into whipsaws.

for Oddball to accomplish the following:avoiding being whipsawed
during strong trending market, only taking signal in the direction of
trend;not to miss any valid signal at top/bottom when market is
