I appreciate the positive intentions.
I agree about 'being ready' as necessary for many changes of
behaviour.    I also believe most are not ready at any one
time.
But at any one time, some are ready - you, perhaps, were an
example.     If just one can be assisted at any one
time that is great - I do expect more.
I am not in the business of being liked - so I do not have a problem with
those who are upset.    On the contrary, their upset is
trying to tell them something - they are just not listening to
themselves.     Their upset is a conjunction of their
needs and service provided.
So my view is those who are upset are on the cusp of being ready - they
just have not got there yet, and they are the ones who need the most help
sooner rather than later, but as you suggest, when they are
ready.
Equally the ones who are turned off or ignore are probably far from being
ready or not in need.
When some do become ready, they may recall some aspect of the message -
giving them something to hang onto and find a way forward even if not
with any one source of help.
The threshold effect also works - either to turn some people off, or to
finally get some to the point that constructive action is
taken.
There is a experience that many traders have, of reaching a point where
progress is blocked and they cannot see a way
forward.     I recall when I was trying to find a way
through the trading equivalent of the marathon runners
'wall'.    My way forward turned out to be an unplanned
chat with an athlete friend who had been through the 'wall'.
Help is normally needed to get through the 'wall'.

"I'm thinking that most traders are stuck in a particular mode
and not ready to really receive until facing that all their efforts are
coming to nought."
One of the aspects of service that you might guess I believe in, is
that service can be provided even when the receiver of service does not
perceive the service at the time of provision.
So you have probably helped some of those traders even if it is not
perceived as such by them.
You cannot win them all - even when they are ready - as I feel sure you
know.
My perception is that only 50% of traders will ever be ready for a
change in mode of thought, and less than half of these will have the
strength to grow through their pain.
But most traders can learn to open their mind to a new idea if this does
not require relinquishing an existing cherished belief.
So there are two classes of traders who can be provided a
service.    I believe both deserve being
serviced.
I am not downcast by my failure, as I have been fortunate to have much
success, but I am uplifted by success of others.
When you go through the 'wall' in one field of activity it seems to give
you added strength to overcome mere failure in other
activities.
I am reminded of the quotes by R.S. Hillyer, Hopkins, Lynch, Pitino,
Robbins, Rohn, Winfrey, Swope :
"If you are doing your best, you will not have to worry about
failure."
"I am not judged by the number of times I fail, but by the number of
times I succeed; and the number of times I succeed is in direct
proportion to the number of times I can fail and keep on
trying."
"You can't be a winner and be afraid to lose."
"Failure is good. It's fertilizer. Everything I've learned about
coaching, I've learned from making mistakes."
"I've come to believe that all my past failure and frustration were
actually laying the foundation for the understandings that have created
the new level of living I now enjoy."
"Failure is simply a few errors in judgment, repeated every
day."
"... Failure is another steppingstone to greatness."
and my favourite for this purpose:
"I cannot give the formula for success, but I can give you the
formula of failure -- which is try to please everybody."
Trying to provide a service, Ric.
