At the risk of contributing to another irrelevant thread, I
would offer that Afghanistan is a very poor country which at the moment mostly
exports refugees and contraband, including drugs, to its neighbours and by
extension, to the world.
To the detriment of the Afghani people, it would appear that
the feudal leadership of Afghanistan did not fully comprehend, at least before
the fact, what it permitted to be unleashed upon the world.
