Ira:  It is my understanding that the
mutual fund managers  wait until 3PM EDT and balance books for purchases
and sells then act shortly there after.  Those of  you out there that
were in the biz back in 1987 may recall the market tried to stabilize then the
last hour once the mutual funds realized they had net redemptions they sold the
market off hard the last hour....

I would also be interested in the normal time for fund
liquidations to meet redemption requirements.  thank you.  Ira.

  Back to the

At one time a long, long time ago
the effect of margin call selling was seen in the markets at 11:00 am est
    and 2:00 pm est.
    Does anyone have any idea
whether there is any uniformity with regard to the timing of margin
    selling?
