CQG has written to the PATS System API, or Application Programming Interface.
They have built their own screen to trade off of that integrates their CQG
Web product with PATS to offer traders the ability to look at one screen and
trade of the same screen.
CQG will be charging a per contract charge for use of this system I am told.
The real efficiency of their screen is the ability to route orders to
different clearing house using PATS all from the same order. So if you are a
CTA clearing Man and Refco, you can execute one order on CQG/PATS and have
the orders sent to both firms from that one click or set of clicks.
This is a much needed functionality, particularly in the pro community. I am
a CQG user, but not their web product yet.
