I share your misery. I always enter shorts using stop orders and the Nasdaq
stocks seem to gap down more lately, giving me undesirable fills. I have
resorted to waiting to market open to place the order. If the stock gaps
down, I wait to a up move takes it above my original entry level, then enter
the stop at that price again. I figure if the gap is an exhaustion gap, then
the rally will continue and I won't get filled. If its a correction in the
down trend, I'll get filled on the continuation.
It sure complicates things though.
