I find this discussion by Hopkins; and the previous one by Roos'
spreadsheet especially interesting.

I was told by some experienced 'quants' that there type of exercise
was not especially meaningful; nor useful.

Perhaps the significance of any percieved patterns are based more on
personal beliefs; which then become self fullfilling through
experience and useful intuition.  If the quants are correct then any
alternative results would be due to the process of data mining?
